THEATRE VISIT

ROMEO & JULIET AT VICTORIA BATHS MANCHESTER

Dance & Drama students went to watch an Innovative Twist on a timeless classic...

The venue was originally opened in 1906.
Onced faced with demolition the prestigious Edwardian building now survives
after winning the first series of the BBC 'Restoration' series in 2003.

The Production Director of Romeo & Juliet, Walter Meierjohann made the decision to stage the piece in a location with natural atmosphere and grandeur.

The production creatively utilized the location using the three pool areas to stage the story of Shakespeare's tragedy...

The production also included live music, song and sound effects.

On the way home our students produced their own sound effects...
