TERM 2 PROJECTS - POPULAR, CONTEMPORARY & COMMUNITY PERFORMANCE

PROJECTS COMPLETED THIS HALF TERM
Level 3 Year 1 - 'Day in the Life'
A Self Devised Character and Scenario Project using Social Issues as the Starting Points.
Each group created 3 scenes to tell their story.
The Project also provided the students with the opportunity to explore Sound & Lighting Design.
'What's the Solution?' - Social Issues facing Teenagers.
 'The Office' - Status Battles in the Workplace.
 'One More Week' - Terminal Illness.
Level 3 Year 2 - Devising a Production 'CITY 44' by Peter Holda.
A Student Devised Production Project based on the plight of The Polish People's Army during World War II.
The process involved Historical & Documentary Research, Scriptwriting, Directing, Film and Sound & Lighting Design.
Higher National Diploma Year 1 - Road Crash Simulation
Working with W57 Leigh, The Traffic Response Unit of Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Service on a Road Safety Awareness Event.
The event involved 2 staged responses to road traffic crashes in which the students played the roles of a driver and a passenger. 
The emergency service used the public event to highlight the importance of wearing seatbelts
and to demonstrate the role of the fire & rescue teams when responding to crashed vehicles.

Higher National Diploma Years 1&2 - 'Murder at The Wheel!' A Murder Mystery.
The Students devised their own Murder Mystery based on a classic formula.
The piece was then staged as a themed event at the College's Wheel Restaurant.
The sell-out event was well received by members of the public.
